My interest in animals has always been a part of my life. Without a doubt the interest comes from my father, Sture, who also had a great interest in animals. Even though I grew up in a city, Gothenburg, I had the opportunity of spending my childhood summers in the countryside in Skåne, the southern part of Sweden. It was at the family's summer residence that I could develop my interest for animals and of course, nature. Here I had rabbits, ducks, goats and chickens. My interest in dogs awoke when my brother, Stewe, bought Laika, a Labrador bitch. She was later passed on to me and became my very own first dog.
During my teens I spent a lot of time with Vigdis Larsen at her kennel, Rovaleco. Thru Vigdis I learned the basics about breeding, dog shows and a lot more. It is with great happiness and gratitude I think back at the times at Rovaleco kennel. I bought my first dog from Vigdis, a Rottweiler bitch called Rovaleco Easy Ina, who was the foundation of my breeding program in Rottweilers. I could hardly have gotten a better mentor than Vigdis!

The kennels first litter was born in 1986 during which I also registered the name Rottrivers kennel. From that litter I kept the first champion I bred, Rottrivers Riola. Her son Ch. NV-89 Rottrivers Excellent-Emperor became my first BIS-winner. The son of Excellent-Emperor became top winning dog Multi Ch. Rottrivers Gaston. After that … I decided to change breed and I started breeding Cairnterriers.

JI was lucky to be able buy my first Cairn from Maud Montgomery Bjurhult, kennel Sarimont. Maud was, according to me and many others, one of this breeds most successful breeders of all times. She generously shared her great knowledge, thoughs, and was extremely self-critic. Maud taught me all about breeding Cairnterriers and everything else there is to know about this breed. My first Cairnterrier from Maud was Int. Ch. Sarimont Sombrero. Out of him I kept a puppy, that later became Int. Ch., Rottrivers Fannygirl, she became my first broodbitch .
Fannygirl was the mother of my first champion Ch. Rottrivers Born In A Backseat. By a coincidence, I bought Ch. Sarimont Sweet One and it was with her the big success started for my Cairns. She became the mother of eight champions, among them Int. Ch. WW-95 Rottrivers Black Pearl who is behind all the Cairnterriers I have in the kennel today.

At the beginning of the 90´s Smooth Foxterriers came into my life. From one of Sweden's most successful breeders of Fox terriers, Annika Larsson, kennel Indianfox, I bought the bitch Int. Nord Ch. Indianfox Snowwhite. From my first litter the legendary Int. Ch WW-95 Rottrivers Snowrecord was born and he wrote history by becoming Terrier of The Year, English Ch. and BOB at Crufts –99. I also have to mention his daughter Int. Ch. Rottrivers Wicked Game.

During the years the kennel has had great success. The first major success in Cairnterriers came thru Rottrivers Black Pearl when she, in –93, won three straight BIS´s at the Kennelclub´s show and became "Second Best Dog" that year.
In 1995 I competed with breeding groups, which resulted in my kennel winning a large number of finals at SKK shows, and I became Breeder of The Year –95.
The feeling when Black Pearl, during an enormous backup from the crowd, won the finals in Champion of Champions at Grand Hotel in Stockholm, I cannot describe in words. It was an unforgettable evening!

The kennel has also been awarded World Winner- and Europe Winner titles on several occasions. About these, and other successes, you can read under the photo of each specific dog.
Rottrivers dogs have become important bloodlines in other breeders breeding programs, both in Sweden and in other parts of the world, which gives me great satisfaction! Dogs from the kennel have been exported to a number of countries around the world.
Nowadays I breed Cairnterriers exclusively and it is my dream that my dogs will be as successful in the future as they have been in the past, with their high quality both mentally and exterior. The mentality is what I consider being most important in my breeding.
